Game Development & Esports Coding Program

Abington Senior High School - Grades 9-12, 60-100 students

A new after-school Game Development & Esports Coding Club will allow students to design and program their own games, work in teams, and prepare for competitive game showcases, using industry-standard tools including game design asset packs and licenses, game controller sets, and headsets with microphones.

Summer Reading Books

McKinley Elementary School - Grades 3-5, 100 students

Over 100 books will contribute to the McKinley Library’s Summer Reading inventory, vetted in accordance with the district’s SAP, giving all students the opportunity to select a new-to-them book of interest to read over the summer.

Birds and Birding as a Source of Discovery, Motivation, & Scientific Insight

Binoculars will support nature-related student motivation, connectivity, and classroom bonding for students in Biology, AP Environmental Science, and the Abington Senior High Bird Club.

Play-Based Educational Materials for AS Classroom

McKinley Elementary School - Grades K-2, 20+ students

A library of reusable manipulatives that focus on pre-academic and academic skills, like letter identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving, will be used for instruction, reinforcement of concepts, and enrichment for AS/CLM and Life Skills Classrooms. 

Life Vac in Schools

All Schools - Grades K-12, all students & staff

The Life Vac is an upper airway clearing device, and the Life Vac kits will be available in all district schools to use during a choking emergency.

Le Petit Coin de Bouquins (Little Book Corner)

Abington Senior High School - Grades 9-12, 150 students

Books at different reading levels and topics in French will help students in French courses familiarize themselves with basic and beyond-basic French vocabulary in a natural way through reading, while learning more about Francophone people and cultures.

Learning Problem-Solving, Math Enrichment, and Citizenship with Board Games

Willow Hill Elementary School - Grades K-5, 500 students

Educational board games will help students practice fine and gross motor skills, promote social-emotional learning and growth, and increase problem-solving skills, enhancing daily lessons through cooperative learning.
